Beginners Copper Foiled Stained Glass
Class 1: March 5, 12, 19, 26 (12pm - 3pm) (PayPal)

Students will learn to cut glass, copper foil the cut glass and solder, and create a frame around their design. The end result will be a beautiful, 10x7 stained glass panel. The instructor will provide the pattern, tools, and equipment. The class is open to the beginner with no experience with stained glass and anyone who has taken classes before. All are welcome!
Colorful Paste Paper Class
Wear old clothes and/or an apron, Paste papers will be wet, so plan to bring a protective cover (a trash bag, plastic table cloth, newspaper, etc.. for your vehicle to transport your creations home.
Jewelry Making 101
Participants will learn the basics of jewelry making as the instructor walks them through making a bracelet and a pair of earrings to take home. Participants will have 3 design options to choose from. All materials will be provided.
Meet the instructor, Lydia Sargent! Lydia was born in Gastonia and has lived there her entire life. After graduating from UNCG in 1973, she taught third and fourth grade in Gaston County for 34 years. After retiring in 2008, Lydia continued working in the school system as an interim and substitute teacher. She also worked at Gaston College for 5 years as a GED Examiner. Lydia's interest in jewelry led her to taking classes at Michael’s on jewelry making. She has continued to learn the art of jewelry making and has given away many pieces of jewelry to family and friends. Lydia finds it very enjoyable to create something of beauty for people to wear. You can find Lydia’s work displayed at the Southern Arts Society in Kings Mountain, Wild and Whimsey in Gastonia, and coming soon to the Cleveland County Arts Council. In addition, Lydia has also been commissioned to make a necklace, bracelet, and earrings for the State President of Alpha DeltaKappa.
Barn Quilt Painting Class
We will paint a beautiful Barn Quilt, design of your choice, on a weatherproof, 2’ x 2’ board. Perfect decoration for your home or to give as a gift!
All Supplies are furnished by the instructor.
Instructor: Carol Mitchell has been teaching barn quilt painting since 2016. She has painted for over 50 years.
Cost: $85 includes all supplies
What to Bring:
Wear old clothes, bring an empty jar (with lid) to take home varnish.
