Acrylic Painting Class

February 20, 11am - 1pm OR March 6, 11am - 1pm

Students will choose between two class designs, arrive to a pre-traced 11x14 canvas, all paints, apron, water cups, brushes, and palette. After enjoying a step by step instruction, they will take home their completed masterpiece! Beginner friendly and fun environment! Open to all adults and children age 12+.

Meet instructor Anitra Morrison: Anitra is a wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a pastor's wife for 25 years. Now, a caregiver to her husband with ALS. An avid crafter and entrepreneur, Anitra does bookkeeping, permanent jewelry, is a health and wellness advocate and teaches mixed media art classes such as canvas, wood, ceramic, and resin.

Colorful Paste Paper Class

February 22, 10am - 12pm

Moving assorted household gadgets in a variety of patterns across paper covered with wet rice paste, we will design colorful paste paper for use as book covers, collages, gift wrap, and more.

Instructor: Sigrid Hice has worked as a teaching artist in schools for more than two decades. She has taught numerous artist book workshops for organizations and educational institutions throughout the region.

Cost: $40 to register

Supplies to bring:
Wear old clothes and/or an apron, Paste papers will be wet, so plan to bring a protective cover (a trash bag, plastic table cloth, newspaper, etc.. for your vehicle to transport your creations home.

Beginners Copper Foiled Stained Glass

4 Class Session Options

Students will learn to cut glass, copper foil the cut glass and solder, and create a frame around their design. The end result will be a beautiful, 10x7 stained glass panel. The instructor will provide the pattern, tools, and equipment. The class is open to the beginner with no experience with stained glass and anyone who has taken classes before. All are welcome!

Meet the instructor: Brenda Holt decided to try her luck in stained glass art in 1990. After 6 weeks of attending stained glass class in Charlotte, NC her instructor said to be sure not to quit her day job because stained glass art was certainly not her niche. Yes, there was evidence that there were no artistic skills in her body. Yet, she did not give up and continued to practice whenever the time allowed. But in 2001, she found herself with more time to explore these crafty abilities due to a job loss. By September of that year, she was devoting at least 20 hours each week to learn the intricacy of this art form. In 2005, Brenda began to teach stained glass classes to groups and individuals along with creating/designing stained glass panels for cabinet doors, exterior windows, gardens, signs, and ethnic art as commissioned work. Today, Brenda has quite a few stained glass pieces placed in art galleries, churches, and homes throughout the United States and is excited to pass these skills along to you!

Barn Quilt Painting Class

May 24, 11am - 3pm

We will paint a beautiful Barn Quilt, design of your choice, on a weatherproof, 2’ x 2’ board. Perfect decoration for your home or to give as a gift!
All Supplies are furnished by the instructor.

Instructor: Carol Mitchell has been teaching barn quilt painting since 2016. She has painted for over 50 years.

Cost: $85 includes all supplies
What to Bring:
Wear old clothes, bring an empty jar (with lid) to take home varnish.
