"Bluey’s World"
$60         Serra Shuford
It's gonna be a G'day every day in this camp as we create all sorts of art inspired by everyone's favorite Blue Heeler, Bluey! We will learn how to draw Bluey and Bingo in a large watercolor painting, sculpt our favorite Bluey characters and scenes, and even make our own Bluey Tie Dye T-Shirts! And that’s just the beginning, this is a camp you will not want to miss! *Students should bring their own white cotton t-shirt.

"The Zoo After Dark"

Take a trip through the zoo after dark! We will explore animals and reptiles that you would see at the zoo. Come create amazing art about these animals and even imagine yourself as a zookeeper. We will be painting, building, drawing and much more. Each camper will take home their own mini black light at the end of the week!

"Art in the Disney Parks" PRESCHOOL CLASS

Let's take a trip to Walt Disney World and create art inspired by the most magical place. We will explore each of the parks throughout the week and recreate some of our favorite characters. We will be painting, building, drawing and much more.

"It's All About Paint"

This week is all about painting…with everything except paintbrushes! We are going to drip it, roll it, throw it....whatever you can imagine! Be prepared to get messy! Come wearing your old clothes and get ready for some fun!

"Art Around the World"

​Come fill up your passport as we travel together to a different continent every day. Students will get to explore different cultures and make various art styles inspired by the continent we learn about each day. We will paint, draw, and so much more! If you like adventure, and travel, don’t miss out!

"Beginning Guitar"

Interested in learning how to play the guitar? In this class you will learn basic acoustic folk/bluegrass/country chords and strumming techniques. You will learn how to hold the guitar, finger chords and hold and use a pick. During this week the goal will be for students to successfully learn and strum a simple two/three chord song individually and as a group. *Students must bring their own guitar.

"It’s a Beautiful World!"

The theme this week is "Nature"! Students will have a unique opportunity to explore and create artwork inspired by the natural world by working with a variety of mediums: ceramics, painting, and drawing. Students will experiment with different clay techniques, such as pinch pot, slab building, and coil building creating pots for growing plants. They will explore different watercolor techniques creating beautiful and colorful nature-inspired artworks. Students will be encouraged to observe and interpret the natural world around them, and to express their observations through drawing. They will learn about different drawing techniques, such as shading and perspective, and will use them to create drawings. This art camp will provide a fun and engaging way for students to learn about and appreciate the beauty and diversity of the natural world, while developing their artistic skills and creativity.

"Puzzled About Clay?"

​In camp this week we’ll be making jigsaw puzzles out of clay. Each student will get to make their own puzzle, using both relief and carving techniques to give dimension to their work. We’ll color the puzzles with vibrant underglazes and decorate cardboard boxes to bring home a fun project the whole family can enjoy!

"Beginning Woodworking I"

This class will focus on the basics of working with wood. Students will learn how to use a sanding block, hammer, nail set, and screwdriver, along with finishing techniques. All materials, tools, safety glasses and dust masks will be provided. Students will not operate any power tools as all projects will be pre-cut and pre-drilled for gluing and assembling. Projects: napkin holder, tool caddy, bird feeder, toy car.

"Beginning Woodworking I"

This class will focus on the basics of working with wood. Students will learn how to use a sanding block, hammer, nail set, and screwdriver, along with finishing techniques. All materials, tools, safety glasses and dust masks will be provided. Students will not operate any power tools as all projects will be pre-cut and pre-drilled for gluing and assembling. Projects: condiment caddy, small stool, bird house, toy car.

"Disney After Dark"

The magic of Disney, but with glowing, fluorescent art materials! Each day we will create artworks inspired by your favorite characters and movies. We will be painting, building, drawing and much more. Each camper will take home their own mini black light at the end of the week!

"Mermaids & Unicorns"

Projects: storage crate, bird house, serving board, toy car.

"Knights and Castles and Dragons, Oh My!"

Join us as we explore fairytale kingdoms and the people (and creatures) who inhabit it! We will make art inspired by castles with princesses, knights in shining armor, and flying dragons! We hope you can join us in our quest to protect the kingdom!

"Time for Dessert!"

In this camp we will be making dessert themed art based on all your favorites like ice cream, cupcakes, and donuts! You will make art that is so mouthwatering it will be hard to resist taking a bite, but don't worry, there might be some edible treats as well!
*Please make the arts council aware if your child has any food allergies.

"Mr. Gonzo's Exemplary, Magnificent, Truly Spectacular Painting Extravaganza!"

Come join us for a fun filled week of paint. During this week we will explore various techniques and subjects as expressed through paint. Students will be submerged in a world of color, wonder, and fun as we explore color as we see it in our surroundings and in our imaginations. So…Come one come all! Grab your best smile, trusty brush, and head on down to Mr. Gonzo's Exemplary, Magnificent, Truly Spectacular Painting Extravaganza! You won't be sorry you came!

"Pokémon Save the World"

This week we will create projects based on the beloved characters of the Pokémon universe using recycled materials. We will work together in a fun adventure packed week to create Pokémon themed art from discarded materials. We will learn how we can repurpose objects from our environment that are considered trash to create beautiful works of art while helping to keep our world clean. Join Pikachu, and the gang for an amazing adventure filled week as we dive deep into the world of Pokémon. Be prepared for anything and most of all remember…

July 31 – Aug. 4
"Peace Ponds & Zen Gardens with Clay"

​This week students will make a Zen garden and a koi pond out of clay. Students will form their ponds and sculpt their fish to make koi ponds, and we'll use glass in the kiln to create the effect of water. Our Zen gardens will be made using colored clay to create small rocks and we’ll arrange them into unique and colorful patterns.

-->Once COVID-19 state and local social distancing mandates have been lifted, you may register by visiting us in person during our regular hours of operation (Mon. – Friday, 9am – 5:30pm and Saturday 10am - 2pm).
 
DISCOUNTS: Families will receive a 10% discount if child is registered weekly for the entire summer.

All classes will be filled on a first come, first serve basis. Enrollment is limited.
 
CANCELLATIONS/REFUNDS: The Arts Council reserves the right to cancel a class if a minimum enrollment of 5 is not attained, unless otherwise noted. In such instances, previously paid fees will be fully refunded. Parents who need to withdraw their child/children from any Summer Arts Camp should contact the Arts Council at the earliest time possible. You will receive a refund, less $10 service charge per camp session only when notice is received at least a minimum of five (5) business days before the first class meeting. We will transfer your child to a later session if space is available.
 
GENERAL INFORMATION:
* Students should enter the Arts Center at the Warren Street side of the building, not the front door.
* Wear clothes that can get messy for all classes.
