The Studios at CCAC

The Studios at CCAC were created to provide a dedicated creative workspace for working artists inside the Cleveland County Arts Council.

As part of the newly renovated lower level of the Arts Council, these studio spaces were designed to give artists an affordable, professional environment where they can focus on their creative practice while being connected to a larger creative community.

CCAC recognizes the importance of supporting artists not only through exhibitions and programming, but by creating spaces where art can actively be made. The Studios at CCAC are intended to support artists through workspace, visibility, and opportunities for public engagement through demonstrations, exhibitions, open studio events, and community programming.

Each studio includes:

  • Newly renovated private workspace

  • 24/7 access

  • Utilities and WiFi included

  • Opportunities for exhibitions and public engagement through CCAC programming

  • Connection to a growing community of artists

The Studios at CCAC are more than rentable spaces. They are part of CCAC’s ongoing commitment to supporting artists and strengthening the creative community in Cleveland County.

Though intimate in size, the additional closet storage offers valuable functionality for supplies and materials while keeping the main workspace open and efficient. This newly renovated studio is well-suited for drawing, writing, mixed media, design work, journaling practices, or painters working on smaller-scale pieces. It is a great option for artists looking for an affordable dedicated studio within a thriving creative environment.


Studio 6

Studio 6 is one of the largest workspaces within The Studios at CCAC and offers exceptional flexibility for artists working at scale. The newly renovated open layout comfortably accommodates large canvases, multiple workstations, collaborative projects, or installation-based practices. This studio is ideal for painters, sculptors, mixed media artists, instructors, or creatives requiring room to spread out and work freely.

Due to its generous footprint, Studio 6 also offers the potential to function as a shared artist studio for two creatives seeking an affordable collaborative workspace. The layout allows for distinct work zones while still maintaining openness and creative energy, making it a strong option for artists interested in community-oriented studio practice.

Studio 7 provides a spacious and adaptable environment designed to support active creative production. This newly renovated studio offers ample room for larger works, drying space, organized storage systems, and multiple simultaneous projects. It is well suited for painters, mixed media artists, designers, and makers whose practices benefit from a more expansive workflow.

The size and layout of Studio 7 also make it an excellent candidate for a shared artist studio arrangement. Two artists could comfortably divide the space while still benefiting from the inspiration and collaboration that often comes from working alongside another creative. Studio 7 is ideal for artists seeking both professional functionality and a strong sense of creative community within CCAC.

Studio 8 is the premium workspace within The Studios at CCAC. In addition to its generous square footage and newly renovated interior, this studio includes built-in cabinetry and a private sink, offering enhanced functionality and convenience for working artists. The integrated storage and wash-up area make this studio especially appealing for painters, printmakers, mixed media artists, and creatives working with hands-on materials and processes. Studio 8 is ideal for artists seeking a highly functional, professional workspace with the added benefit of being part of an active and visible creative hub in Uptown Shelby.

 

Studio Rental Structure

Lease Terms
Studios are offered with a preferred minimum 6-month commitment to help foster a stable and engaged creative community within The Studios at CСАС.

Available Lease Options:

  • 6-Month Lease
  • 12-Month Lease (discounted monthly rate)

Month-to-month rentals may be considered only if space availability allows and may be subject to a higher monthly rate.
